Great game

I always come back to this game, and the developer has provided wonderful support! Please support apps like these.

Best 4x for iOS

Fantastic take on MoO2. Great balance and replayability. The graphics wont wow, but thats because the game holds its own.

Great Strategic Depth

This is the best 4X strategy game I have ever played. The developer, Rocco Bowling, makes regular updates/patches and pays attention to the player base. Great, active forums and player base.

Excellent Community!

Review update for 1.2.7: The developer still continues to be very responsive to user requests. I look forward to future updates. The community of this game is excellent and very mature. The forums are full of very helpful people. Even if you are only interested in playing single player, I encourage you to check out the forums or the multiplayer "spacebar" chat room for any questions you may have. If you want to be involved in improving the game, you can even join the beta testing group-a fun experience in which you can see your suggestions implemented very quickly while interacting with the developer.

Best 4X Game continues to stand the test of time

And … ANOTHER update to improve the game (again!) So many options, so many ways to play. Quite simply, the best 4X game on iOS. The developer continually upgrades (27+ upgrades in 2+ years!) and tweaks the game to increase re-playability and add features. Combined with a first-class user forum and an in-game chat (with mature players who can actually use complete sentences), new users will feel welcome and able to learn from the existing players. Successful strategies include: industrial overpowering, research supremacy, cloak and dagger, growth/expansion dominance, or any hybrid you choose to outwit, then overpower your opponent(s). Single player, multi-player, and user run leagues and tournaments, truly the best investment I’ve made for ANY game. Finally, the game plays great on either iPhone or iPad, and you can continue your existing games on either device automatically. A unique notification sound will always alert you when it’s your turn on multi-player. Asynchronous multiplayer with a variety of timers, including no timer, moves the games along at your pace.

Amazing game

This game is great very good community and super engaging

Get it

One of the best games Ive played on any platform. Well worth the money.

Where to get your MOO2 Fix

This is not just a great 4X game, but a great implementation for the iPad itself. It uses the touch interface to good advantage, and gives me a close enough feel to the classic PC games I loved to get me through over my jonzin for a game of MOO. Nice work by the developer, I hear they have new stuff in the works, I hope it is of equal quality.

Over and over and over...

Been playing this game off and on for years. It stays on my iPad while most other games come and go! Pay once, play forever. This is the type of game I cherish! Great game and not just a money grab by a third rate programmer! Works even without an Internet connection.

Great Game!!!

Super fun and addicting game. There is one annoying glitch that I keep encountering; at times I get a notification that a "planetary expansion" is available for a planet that I already colonized. The notification keeps coming up every couple turns. When I select the notification to colonize the planet it sends me to a blank screen. I dont think there is any way to end the notifications. Other than that a great game.

Strategy at its finest. This is an epic game. Full stop.

Great turn based strategy game. The nuisances of custom race selection and building order create a challenging, dynamic game board that calls for you to keep trying new combinations... Do you research new technology and attempt to use scientific advances to your benefit or do you crank up the industry in an attempt to simply overwhelm your opponents with your ship numbers? Combat is a game within the game once you start considering the various weapons systems and attack patterns. How quickly do you expand to nearby star systems? So many different styles of gameplay. Online multiplayer gameplay is great and the forum community really helpful. I love this game... Takes me back to Classic PC strategy and Ill be playing this one for years to come!

True MoO2 successor!

An awesome rendition of MoO2. Ive logged more time in this game than any other iOS game!

Great game

Thanks for all the updates!

Looking for a Well Done game? You got it.

Ive had the game for little over a year now, and its been my best purchase on the iPhone. Plays like a AAA strategy game, that allows a ton of different play styles. This game is a must have. The developers listen to their audience, and update frequently. Make sure to try Online!

good, still needs work

Im not going to be as over the top as some reviewers- Im going to try to be as objective as possible to help interested buyers. Its main strength is simply this: if you miss Master of Orion, this is the iOS game for you. Its a pretty above-average recreation of the game, and once you get into it a little, youll probably not regret the app purchase. Still a few bugs to work out or weaknesses: its not an absolute re-creation, so be prepared to accept a few new ways of doing things (and the occasionally silly names for things). Planetary expansion bug- if you choose it and theres no planet to expand in the system, youll get an annoying "opportunity" message for the rest of the game but will never be able to expand. Also- if you negotiate nonaggression pacts with neighbors and then start to build really big empires with lots of ships, money, etc., at some point the game just locks up and cant go forward. Thats the most annoying bug to date. One other thing- there are many games in which the AI is so aggressive you cant enjoy empire-building because youre pretty much at war from Turn 2. This makes some games boringly one-dimensional, and those are the ones I just quit. How about adjustable AI so that you can still have your scraps, but at least enjoy other parts of planet development first?

Old time MOO2 Fan

Im so happy this game was recreated for IOS. Now Ive lost more countless hours trying to take over the Galaxy. A few points that I like and do not like: Ive come across a few bugs like in one system being able to create one too many system expansion settlements so each round Id get a message about being able to expand in the system with the unusable expansion with no way to correct it. Im hoping the developers read this so and have a new release coming out. There are other items that I think could use some work. The races are limited in comparison to MOO2. If you play with 7 contending races youll have duplicate races. I do love the fact that you can create your own specialized race picking from the different attributes. Nicely done. I also like there are choices in the layout of the Galaxy. Adding a feature to randomize the Galaxy would also be nice. MOO2 should have been on a touchscreen from the start (if the tech existed then). Orion is how the game should be played.

My favorite game

Ive had this game for over a year. Ive played it multiple times, and its still my favorite game. Great relay value.

Fun, but Way too easy. Probably the most broken game Ive ever played.

This game is enjoyable, but I can have it on the highest level possible and AI advantages turned on and its still INCREDIBLY easy. I get to the point that for there to even be any competition at all, I give off all my technology for free to others as soon as Im done. I have 2000+ in galactic credits coming in every turn (with my command points through the roof too), 20,000 production available in planets, and not even building anything so I dont have a ridiculously overpowered fleet. Please make it more challenging, its a great concept, but WAY too broken.

Awesome Game

Just bought the game. If you like this type of game, then well worth the purchase price! (Stayed up way too late playing the tutorial last night. Sun came out and then some. ;))

Simply fun

Although this not the only 4x galactic empire game out there it is the most fun one out there that I am aware of.
